Architect: Frank Gehry
Frank Gehry
Frank Gehry (born 1929 in Toronto, Canada) is well known for his intricate architecture that resembles artwork opposed to architecture. His works are seen to be the most important works of contemporary architecture in the 2010 world architecture survey and has lead to many awards including the Pritzker Prize and the Order of Canada. Gehry’s works include the Guggenheim Museum (see image 1.), the Vitra Design Museum (see image 2.) and the Lou Ruvo Centre (see imge 3.) among many others.

The Guggenheim is one of Gehry's most renowned architectural works and a 20th century architectural icon. The art musuem is internationally renowned and is a vital cultural center, educational institute and is apart of an international network of museums.
Image 2: The Vitra Design Museum (Unknown Source, not own models). The Vitra Design Museum was developed in 1989 as an independant private foundation as it is a privately owned museum for design in Wei am Rhein, Germany.
Image 3: Lou Ruvo Centre for Brain Health (Model created by Frank Gehry & Associates). The Lou Ruvo Center was opened in 2009 in Las Vegas, Nevada and is operated by the cleveland clinic but owned by the 'Keep The Memory Alive Foundation'. The building has been criticised for its design although has also been viewed as ground breaking.
